Job description
• Implementation Company’s Procurement and Stores Policies and Procedures effectively.
• Enforce contracting procedures, standard documentation, processes, and training materials.
• Enforcing proper controls on cost management by analysing all commercial proposals, tenders, and quotation to their minicule levels.
• Applying necessary skills and strategies in negotiating and benchmarking prices.
• Managing large scale and complex sourcing and procurement projects aligning to relevant project tools and framework to support the transaction activities.
• Compiling enquiry documents, the commercial, financial evaluation of tenders and reports.
• Compile monthly reports and update procurement operating plans.
Minimum requirements
BCom / BCom Law degree with 5 years supply chain and contract management experience in the mining sector as well as experience in commercial law OR B-Degree (Purchasing, Procurement, and/or supply Chain Management) or Post-graduate Diploma (Purchasing).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment of which minimum of 2 years at management level
• ERP experience or certification in Materials Management
• A valid code B/EB driver’s licence
• CIPS, IPSA, SAPICS, and any other relevant professional body membership
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & OTHER COMPETENCIES
• Understanding of preferential procurement policy framework act and other legislation including the OHSA, Mine Health and Safety Act regulations
• Experience in buying mechanical parts, raw materials such as chemicals, services, all requirements for a mine
• Commercial and Financial evaluation of tenders
• Extensive commercial and contracts experience gained in a major projects environment and demonstrated ability to meet project quality, timeline, and budget requirements
• A high level of understanding and ability to apply sound Commercial and Contracts Law requirements and methodologies
• Ability to translate scopes of work, specifications, drawings into a commercially executable document
• The ability to contribute to market development initiatives (e.g.: low-cost country sourcing) and influence end-users to evaluate alternative supply sources
• An ability to develop and execute Procurement best practice and drive the concept of "value in use" through specific project initiatives
• Knowledge of sources of supply, markets and price trends, and the various grades and qualities of a wide variety of materials, supplies, and equipment
