Job description
· Safety & Compliance: Enforce compliance with Kalagadi Mine Health and Safety (HSE) Standards and Procedures, leading daily toolbox talks for the day shift cleaning crews and maintain zero-harm operational environments.
· Incident Investigation: Promptly implement safety and operational protocols i.e. identify sources of spillage using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and '5 Whys' methodologies for any equipment breakdowns or deviations.
· Team Leadership & Administration: Coach and manage the performance of cleaning crews and shift operators (when required). Maintain accurate digital logs and generate comprehensive day shift performance reports.
· Ore Preparation & Handling: Responsible for the workplace organisation and housekeeping activities. Assist with overseeing the efficient running and availability of screening, crushing, and raw material blending to ensure uniform sinter plant feed along with the Ore Preparation Plant Process Supervisors.
· Sinter Plant: Responsible for the workplace organisation and housekeeping activities. Assist to monitor and control critical sinter plant process parameters along with Sinter Plant Process Supervisors and Senior Process Controllers.
· Asset Management: Collaborate closely with the maintenance team to coordinate routine daily inspections and maintenance/repairs, minimise downtime on critical components and conduct in housekeeping and maintenance protocols. Record and give report to the operations and engineering team on matters relating to equipment maintenance. Ensure actions from inspections are recorded and action or escalate any matters requiring attention to the relevant Section Leads.
· Carries out instructions as directed by the Section Lead, which support the overall purpose of the affected area of operation, with reference to workplace organisation and housekeeping activities.
· Order PPE and controls issuing thereof for the cleaning crews.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Grade 12 /NQF Level 4
· National Diploma Extraction Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent (Advantageous)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· At least 5 years plant related experience
· Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
· Excellent organisation skills and written communication skills
· Strong Leadership and management ability
· Ability to work in a multinational/multicultural environment
