Introduction
Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants who will be reporting to the Engineering Foreman and who will be required to perform service maintenance and repairs on earth moving equipment/machinery according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications.
Job description
Construct engineering installations according to agreed standards, procedures, and specifications.
Maintain and repair engineering equipment according to agreed standards and schedules.
Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing, and company standards.
Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Foreman.
Develop, modify, construct, and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment.
Create and maintain job cards.
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• Qualified Electrician Trade Certificate
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Qualified Electrician Trade Certificate
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Minimum of 1 year of mining industry experience (underground and surface)
• Minimum of 1 year of trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• Knowledge of different diesel engines (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
• Knowledge of different diesel injecting systems (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
• Minimum of 1 year of trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• Knowledge of different diesel engines (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
• Knowledge of different diesel injecting systems (basic to intermediate) [Advanced preferred]
• A valid code B/EB driver’s licence
• Medically fit for duty
• Good hand-eye coordination [Vienna Test System: Orange , or Dover Testing System > 65%
