Introduction
To ensure that the Kalagadi Manganese supplier database is frequently updated and is up to date with current, new potential, and prospective suppliers, all of which have been vetted for the key compliance including but not limited to, empowerment credentials, banking code, adverse media, CIPC Compliance, SARS Compliance. Practical execution of the approved Enterprise- and Supplier development policy and aspirations and its alignment, where required, with the Social and Labour Plan of the Company, to ensure compliance with the Mining Charter and the BBBEE codes of the DTI. The position would be based at Kalagadi Manganese HO, but regular travelling to site and stakeholders/suppliers site and/or meetings will be required. Kalagadi Manganese Operation site is in Hotazel, Northern Cape Province.
Job description

  • ·  Acting as the interface between suppliers & stakeholders and Kalagadi Manganese
  • Identifying new potential and prospective suppliers and expanding existing inventory of local businesses.
  • Develop induction programs and provide training to familiarise new vendors with the Company’s business processes and quality systems.
  • Conducting assessment and vetting of suppliers prior registering in the database.
  • Manage and update the Kalagadi supplier database regularly.
  • Liaise with Local business forums within John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality to ensure local suppliers participate in Kalagadi tender process.
  • Encourage existing suppliers to embark on a transformation process whereby they create HDSA shareholding in their ownership structure and/or incubation programs.
  • Mentoring and Coaching of SMME, s Suppliers.
  • Adhere to procurement policies and procedures.
  • Implement the company transformation objectives.

Minimum requirements

  • National Senior Certificate/ Grade 12
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Business Administration/ Procurement/Supply Chain Management or related field from a recognised and registered institution
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, APICS, or equivalent are an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of procurement & supply chain (mining or related fields)
  • Experience of supplier management, category and strategic sourcing
  • Previous experience in mining will be an added advantage
  • English fluency is essential and ability to communicate in other languages is an advantage.
  • Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability. Strong experience in strategic sourcing, inventory control, contract negotiation
  • Effective and authoritative communication and coaching skills
  • Effective time management and personal organisational skill

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies 

  • Initiating change with commitment and drive, demonstrate an open-minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions.
  • Adaptive to change and able to work in ambiguous circumstances.
