Introduction
The successful candidate will be appointed to assist the TMM Supervisor with coordination between the workforce and management to be responsible for planning and execution of maintenance and repairs to equipment in the TMM Department. The position will require working shifts.
Job description

·          Have knowledge and skill in applying leadership techniques to individuals and teams within the work context

·          Have knowledge and skill in formulating a plan to meet set objectives

·          Have knowledge and skill in implementing solutions for problems that are on the table

·          Have knowledge and skill in recommending corrective action

·          Have knowledge and skill in applying theories of motivation and group dynamics

·          Have knowledge and skill in conducting a meeting

·          Have knowledge and skill in dealing with differing views in a meeting

·          Communicate operational information and changes to relevant stakeholder to minimize delays

·          Be able to ensure availability of all materials and equipment needed during the shift

·          Be able to perform resource planning and ensure availability thereof

·          Be able to perform a start of shift inspection

·          Demonstrate knowledge and skill with regards to plant capacities

·          Demonstrate knowledge with regards to operational targets and objectives to meet

·          Co-ordinate and monitor mining activities in area of responsibility to ensure adherence to mine standards and operational requirements

·        Be able to ensure that everybody on shift know and understand how to perform their duties

·        Demonstrate knowledge and skill with regards to safety principles and practices in the workplace

·        Demonstrate knowledge and skill in generic management principles and practices

·        Know and understand how to perform each task, task durations and desired output required

·        Co-ordinate shift hand over at the beginning of each shift by checking log sheets, physical mining activities, and communicate to relevant subordinates

·        Be able to interpret information and to attend to critical activities

·        Be able to prioritise tasks and activities

·        Demonstrate knowledge and skill in interaction management

Minimum requirements

·        N3 Technical Certificate

·        Diesel Mechanic/Drill Fitter trade Test issued by the MQA

·        Valid Driver’s licence

·        5 years’ experience as a Qualified Artisan in a mining environment
