Job description
- Budgeting: Support the development, maintenance and monitoring of operational budgets and cost plans.
- Cost Control: Drive cost visibility, investigate variances and support corrective actions to maintain cost discipline.
- Change & Risk Management: Assess the cost and commercial implications of changes, risks and emerging requirements.
- Planning & Scheduling: Work closely with planning and scheduling disciplines to understand timing, resources and cost implications
- Forecasting: Prepare and maintain reliable cost forecasts and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Contract Management: Support commercial oversight of contracts, commitments, variations and cost implications
- Accounting Awareness: Apply a practical working knowledge of basic accounting concepts and their impact on cost reporting
- Governance & Controls: Promote disciplined processes, transparency, documentation and appropriate cost controls
- Commercial Support: Provide operational and management teams with clear commercial analysis and decision support
- Data Mining & Benchmarking: Analyse cost and operational data, identify trends and benchmark performance where appropriate.
- ERP Systems: Demonstrate working knowledge of ERP systems and the use of systems data for cost control and reporting.
- Excel: Intermediate to advanced Excel capability, including analysis, modelling and reporting.
- Reporting & Presentations: Convert complex cost information into clear, concise management reports and presentations
Minimum requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma or Degree from a reputable institution in ( Engineering; Building; Quantity Survey; Project Management ( or any relevant qualification backed by experience) (NQF 6-7)
- Expeience in heavy industrustry (Mining; oil;gas, petro chemicals, manufacturing and similar)
- 8 years of experience
- Professional registration ( AACE;PMI; PMSA; SACQSP; ECSA) is advantageous
