TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the planning and organising of resources to obtain production targets.
• Plan and coordinate major shutdowns with internal and external clients to ensure the timeous allocation of resources.
• Co-ordinate day to day maintenance plan with operation team to ensure safety, reliability and availability of equipment is with in an acceptable time.
• Co-ordinate the design of new equipment and ensure integration with the application of existing technology and resources.
• Review maintenance strategy to align with OPEX and CAPEX Budget plan as per Asset management plan.
• Assist Engineering Manager (2.13.1 Appointee) on preparing DMR Files and filling the MD1 and MD208 Forms.
• Conduct Root Cause Analyses on primary equipment breakdowns.
• Lead in engineering decision making.
• Co-ordinate and communicate Primary Equipment breakdowns to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage and control maintenance cost to ensure budget plan not exceeded.
• Responsible for risk evaluation and alleviation within design of systems, equipment, and products (Technical and Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ).
• Responsible for the execution of discipline design (systems, equipment and products) through to documentation and data pack management.
• Assist and support engineering team during breakdown fault finding
• Responsible as a Regulation 2.13.3.1 legal appointee for shafts, ventilation fans, compressors and surface infrastructure, all underground infrastructure (Mechanical & Electrical) and TMM (Trackless mobile Machinery) as well as project execution in area of responsibility.
• Ensure compliance to statutory requirements and Mine Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.
• Ensure that all Engineering reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules.
• Lead on project execution to eliminated delays.
Minimum requirements
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate /Grade 12
- National Diploma/ BEng/ BSc Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- GCC Mines and Works
- Management Development Programme required or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years as a Main Vertical Shaft Engineer
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on shafts, winders and ore processing plants or currently been appointed as 2.13.3.1 in these areas – (please clearly indicate on your CV)
- Minimum 10 to 15 years’ post GCC experience in an underground mine with TMM
- 5 years of experience at managerial level
- Operational experience in a leadership role
- Sound Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Specify on your CV)
