Job description
Responsibilities:
- Operate the roller machine to compact earth, gravel, and asphalt on construction sites
- Inspect the roller for any malfunctions or defects before and after use
- Ensure the roller is adequately fuelled and lubricated
- Communicate with the construction team to receive instructions and coordinate work
- Monitor the machine's performance and make adjustments as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Report any accidents or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Perform routine maintenance on the roller machine as needed
Minimum requirements
Requirements:
- Prior experience in operating a roller machine
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols for operating a roller machine
- Physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the construction/mining environment.
