Job description
· Executes production plan to achieve set targets.
· Record and gives report to the operations and engineering team on matters relating to equipment maintenance.
· Ensures inspections are done and recorded and action or escalates any matters requiring attention.
· Liaises with relevant parties in cases of emergency, stops to correct deviations and communicates to the foreman/section head.
· Ensures relevant log sheets for data collection are completed and filled and generates daily production reports.
· Guides the operators during operational problems to identify root causes and resolve problems to minimize down times and ensures that all relevant that all relevant procedures are adhered to in resolving problems.
· Take account of raw material stock and ensures stock minimum levels are always maintained.
· Ensures that the plant is operated in line with the designed parameters and effecting changes where required to ensure product is on grade.
· Logs environmental and safety incidents, enforce corrective action and close out actions as complete.
· Responsible for time management, Leave roster, Labour relations management and HRD issues in relation to subordinate team members.
· Carries out instructions as directed by the Foreman/Section Head, which support the overall purpose of the affected area of operation.
· Orders PPE and controls issuing thereof.
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12 /NQF Level 4
· National Diploma Extraction Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Other requirements:
- · At least 5 years plant related experience
- · Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
- · Excellent organisation skills and written communication skills
- · Strong Leadership and management ability
- · Ability to work in a multinational/multicultural environment
