Receive instructions from the Foreman / Supervisor

†  Ensure that a full pre check inspection is done on the machine before operating drill machine

†  Complete a pre - start checklist before operating drill machine

†  Tramming and operating the drill machine in different areas on the mine

†  Ensure that the fire extinguisher is in working order

†  Ensure that the drill machine is clean inside the cab and outside

†  Marking and measuring the drilling area for drilling and blasting purposes

†  Report any damages to the machine immediately

†  Help with removal and fitment of pipe roping

†  Ensure excellent operating through compliance with health and safety standards

†  Report any damages to the drill machine

†  Communicate with personnel effectively in order that instructions are carried out properly

†  Perform any reasonable tasks assigned to him/her by the Foreman / Supervisor

†  Carry out an inspection daily in his/her section

†  Report near misses and other potential hazards

†  Clean up hydrocarbon spills

†  Ensure that protective devices are in good condition

†  Ensure that the working areas maintain high levels of good housekeeping

†  Ensure that the main switch is off when finished drilling and key removed (Lock out Procedure)
